Bernier went to Achabal along the pilgrims way. 'Returning from Send-bray (Bawan) I turned a little from the high road for the sake of visiting Achiavel (Achibal), formerly a country house of the Kings of Kashemire and now of the Great Mogol. What principally constitutes the beauty of this place is a fountain, whose waters disperse themselves into a hundred canals round the house, which is by no means unseemly, and throughout the gardens.

As you drive past the Mughal Gardens of Achabal, you will come across the picturesque Daksum. Situated amidst the magnificent grandeur of the Kokarnag springs, it presents an awe-inspiring sight. Standing at an altitude of 2438 m in a densely forested gorge, Daksum offers peace and tranquility. The only sound heard there is that of the Bringhi River, rushing right through its center. Daksum in Kashmir valley is a must for those fond of walking and nature.

Gulmarg, the charming hill resort Gulmarg means 'Meadow of Flowers'. It is the finest and the most famous pleasure resorts of the Kashmir. One of the Highest mountains in the world, Nanga Parbat's magnificient view is possible to look from Gulmarg. Gulmarg is Kashmir's third most popular tourist resort, after Srinagar and Pahalgam. This meadow on the Pir Panjal Mountains shaped like the figure '8' is more than 3 km in length and 2 km in breadth. On all sides there are mountains and forests of 'Deodar' and 'Pine'.

Tangmarg

32km, is the famous stopover enroute to Gulmarg. Connecting Gulmarg by a 13 km metal road and an exciting 5 km trekking route. During Winters, warm clothes, long boots and water proofs are available on hire.

Yousmarg is a set of meadows surrounded by Pine trees and Mountains.A very interesting place to visit is Nilnag Lake, which is surrounded by Tall pine trees .Yousmarg is about 47 km from Srinagar.It is believed that Jesus spent his last days here at this place in Kashmir,Yousmarg is said to be short form of “Yus” Youza or Jesus and “marg” means a meadow.
Also One can trek or take a pony ride to Doodh Ganga about an hour from Yousmarg.
Charari- Sharief can be visited on the way to Yousmarg ,this is the shrine of famous Kashmiri saint Nund reshi 1440AD.

Sonmarg-thajiwas
Sonmarg or Sonamarg is a town of Jammu and Kashmir state of India. Situated at 87 km from Srinagar, it is a popular tourist destination.
Sonamarg, at an altitude of 3,000 metres above sea level, 87 km north-east of Srinagar. The drive to Sonamargh is though yet another spectacular facet of country side in Kashmir, this time in Sindh Valley. The Sindh Valley is the largest tributary of the valley of Kashmir. It is upwards of sixty miles long, and valley and deep rock-girt gorge to open grassy meadow land and village-dotted slopes.

For a fun filled ride of a most unusual kind, Gulmarg's newly constructed Gondola lift from high above Gulmarg, through pine clad slopes, is exhilarating. Among the highest in the World in Gulmarg Gondola Cable Car, installed by a world renowned French company. The first phase is up to Kongdori, 3045 meters, where a sledge or ski can be hired even in Summer when the slopes are covered with snow. The second phase connects Kangdori with Apharwat, 4060 meters, a ridge that offers breathtaking view in all seasons and adventurous slopes for downhill skiing / snow boarding.

Behind the Dachigam sanctuary lies the Mahadev peak (4267 meters), it is a trekkers delight.The way to Mahadeo goes through village of Dara.It takes two days to reach the Peak .A total of 3 days are required to return back to the base camp

Gulmarg also has one of the world's highest green golf courses, as well as a clubhouse, which is a historical building in its own right. For the would-be golfer, there are golf sets on hire, pros to instruct one in the game, and temporary memberships. Naturally, these facilities are available to players as well, except that serious golfers usually carry their sets along.
